Spaces are filled on a rolling basis. This program is offered for freshmen entering the fall semester only.
This program runs from August 4th to 24th

Jump Start is an excellent opportunity to launch your college success! Jump Start offers an academically challenging, intensive three-week program of college coursework and activities; first-year students earn credits, meet friends, explore cultural offerings of New York City and connect with the Marymount community.

Jump Start enables students to transition into their first semester at Marymount Manhattan with confidence and focus.

 

Steps for Accepted Students

1. Apply for Financial Aid
Complete the FAFSA (US Citizens or Permanent Residents Only)

2. Submit Tuition Deposit

3. Submit Housing Application &
Deposit

4. Apply for Optional Jump Start Program

5. Registration Process

6. Submit Proof of Immunization

7. Request Final Transcript

8. Pay Bill

9. Review Orientation Information

10. Enroll in or Waive Health Insurance

 

How do I sign up for Jump Start?

Complete and return the Application as soon as possible as places are filled on a rolling basis.

 


How much does Jump Start cost?

  • Residential Students - $3,998
  • Commuter Students - $2,948
  • Meal Estimate - $35 per day (Dining Dollars are accepted)

Does Jump Start require a deposit?

No, the $200 tuition deposit required in Step 1 reserves your place in the Jump Start program as well.


Jump Start Program Courses

Students earn 4 credits which satisfy core requirements of their degree. All Jump Starters will take FYM and a 3 credit course. The coursework is intensive and students can expect a daily schedule from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Courses for Jump Start are subject to change.

Introduction to Sociology 101 3 Credit

This course acquaints students with the field of sociology and provides a basis for greater understanding of contemporary society.

The socialization process, culture, institutions and inter-group relations are among the topics explored.

First Year Mentoring 101 1 Credits

This course assists incoming students in making a successful transition into the intellectual community of Marymount Manhattan College (MMC).

Students will learn about the curriculum of MMC and are oriented to it's diverse campus and learning environment.

The Literary Imagination 125 3 Credit

This course explores how authors exercise their imagination to communicate their ideas in various literary genres, including poetry, drama, and fiction.

Faculty will incorporate film, museum visits and other extracurricular activities to enhance your learning experience.


Citywide Exploration

Additionally, Jump Start exposes students to cultural offerings of the Big Apple, including a Broadway Show!
