Admitted to the BA/BFA in Dance Program

The Dance Department will advise all admitted BA and BFA in Dance majors by telephone to schedule classes. Please note that your initial schedule in the Department is predetermined to assure appropriate class size and to coordinate with your academic courses. The incoming freshmen dance major course load is set by first-year requirements in Dance and the Disciplinary Courses. Transfer students will be advised appropriately based on courses taken at other colleges.

All first semester, full-time students at Marymount will be placed into 14-16 credits depending upon your writing placement. You will be placed into a Learning Community which includes a writing course and a general education course. In addition to your Learning Community courses, you will be taking courses within your major, and/or other general education courses. Please visit the MMC Web site for specific course and academic information.

20 minute advisement and registration appointments will take place over the phone during the following dates and times:

  • Monday, May 20th, 12-6pm
  • Tuesday, May 21st, 12-6pm
  • Wednesday, May 23rd, 12-6pm
  • Thursday, May 24th, 12-6pm

It is important to call the Dance Department at 212-517-0610 to make an appointment. If you cannot make one of the times above, please give us two options that may work for you. On-going registration will take place through the end of the month of May. Early advisement will help ensure an optimum course schedule.

New students entering in the Spring semester should call the Dance Department in late November to schedule an advisement appointment.

Important: You must have auditioned and been accepted by the Dance Department to schedule a registration appointment. Your $200 tuition deposit must also be received before you are allowed to schedule an appointment and/or register.

Freshman Student

Beginning May 6th 2013, incoming full-time Freshmen are required to submit the Online Priority Clearance (OPC) Form to be eligible for registration.

Completing the OPC Form is the only step required to register for classes. Once we receive your OPC Form, an academic advisor will build your schedule and post it on MMC Connect, the web portal where you will be able to login and view your class schedule.

Part-time students are not required to complete the OPC Form and should call the Office of Academic Advisement at 212-517-0568 to schedule an in-person or phone appointment.

Students that complete the OPC Form by May 19th, 2013 will receive priority registration and will be placed in classes first.

Students will be assigned and mailed a Marymount Manhattan email address and login to MMC Connect. Class schedules, financial aid awards, and tuition and housing charges are posted on MMC Connect for students to access and review once their login is received.

Login information will be mailed in early-June for students that complete the OPC by May 19th, 2013. All others will be mailed on a rolling basis beginning mid-June.

Important: Your $200 tuition deposit must be received before you complete the OPC Form.
