Alumni Discuss Jane Austen's Lady Susan and The Watsons
The Alumni Book Club Meeting featured Jane Austen's Lady Susan and The Watsons, two short works that reveal the author's development as a great artist. These novels show Jane Austen experimenting with a variety of different literary styles, from melodrama to satire, and exploring a range of social classes and settings. Prior to the discussion of the works at The Madison Bistro, the group toured the exhibit A Woman's Wit: Jane Austen's Life and Legacy at The Morgan Library and Museum.
