MMC Art Professor Merrily Kerr Leads Chelsea Art Gallery Tour

Art professor Merrily Kerr led alumni on a Chelsea gallery tour that included six galleries. Since the first galleries opened in Chelsea a decade ago, the area has changed dramatically from industrial no man's land to a contemporary art Mecca where established galleries rub shoulders with young up and coming spaces. Alumni experienced one of the most dynamic contemporary art scenes in the world.

Gladstone Gallery artist Huang Yong Ping created this monumental installation comprised of a single temple-like construction. Taking its form from the spiral of a coiled snake skeleton, a ramp of bamboo gradually rises taking the viewers from the tail toward its head.
