Alumni and Students Volunteer for New York Cares Day

On October 17, the Office of Alumni Relations helped revitalize Our World Neighborhood Charter School in Astoria, N.Y., on New York Cares Day. This school is one of the largest charter schools in the city. More than 700 students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade attend the school, with 31 percent qualifying for free or reduced lunch. A group of 13 alumni and students painted a welcoming mural near the main entrance and a mural that represents the various cultures of the world in the main office.
