Why did you choose
to
come to Marymount Manhattan?
I wanted to live and study in Manhattan. I heard the arts programs were
great. The 55th St. Residence Hall really won me over, though.
What activities do
you
participate in at MMC?
I try to participate in everything that is available, schedule
permitting. I am the current President of the Black/Latino Student
Association (BLSA). My goal (aside from creating a sense of community
among students of color) is to promote oneness, unity, and humanity for
everyone at MMC. BLSA's 3rd Annual Speak Up Poetry Slam will be held
this year on 11/11/11 @ 7 PM in Regina Peruggi! Of course, I also
participate in big events such Apple Fest, Strawberry Fest, the Boat
Dance, among others.
What has been your
favorite class taken at the college? Why?
I would have to say Acting I. This course was my first college level
acting course. It, along with my professor (Ellen Orenstein), was very
challenging. Though challenging, it proved very rewarding. By May,
Ellen managed to strip away all the ego and pretense and cultivated a
nice group of young actors. I will always carry with me the skills and
tips (and journals) given to me by Ms. Ellen Orenstein.
