Dr. Jenny Dixon (Ph.D., University of Missouri) is an assistant professor in the Communication Arts Department and the Coordinator of the Gender and Sexuality Studies Minor. Professor Dixon’s research focuses on the navigation of public and private identities communicated in workplace settings. Specifically, her current research focuses on work and family balance for employees of non-traditional family structures (LGBTQ, polyamorous, non married, etc). Dr. Dixon also examines the material and symbolic worth of diversity training initiatives and nondiscrimination policies. As a secondary research interest, Dr. Dixon explores the diversity of news content on independent, non-commercial, and pedagogical news sources. Recent Publications Dixon, J. (in press).
