October 26: Admissions Social Science Day
September 29, 2012
Social Sciences Day - Friday, October 26, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM
You will learn about the application and financial aid process, available scholarships, and academic offerings at MMC. The program will conclude with a reception and special guest lecture, "Monumental: Downtown New York After 9-11," by Christopher Ward, Executive Vice President of Dragados USA, Inc. and former Executive Director of the New York / New Jersey Port Authority. In this capacity he not only oversaw the complex daily business of New York's harbors in an era of heightened security, but also the monumental reconstruction of the World Trade Center, including One World Trade Center and the 9-11 Memorial. Ward will discuss the task of re-envisioning downtown New York; the practicalities and politics of urban design in a place steeped with historical memory. This lecture will give you an opportunity to participate in a discussion and grasp an understanding of how the social sciences impact the real world. Bringing together prospective students with current majors and alumni, Social Sciences Day celebrates the study of History, International Studies, Political Science, and Sociology at Marymount Manhattan College.
Register for the program online or by calling 1-800-MARYMOUNT or 212-517-0430.
