MMC Theatre Production Workshop presents Major Barbara by George Bernard Shaw. An intellectually engaging comedy with spirited debate about religion, capitalism, class, gender equality, power, and warfare, Major Barbara is one of Shaw’s most forward-thinking plays. Written in the first decade of the 20th century, this classic about the contest between the world views of the rich arms manufacturer, Andrew Undershaft, and his daughter, Barbara, a major in the Salvation Army, provides thought-provoking political and social commentary on the first decade of the 21st century. This production is performed by students in the Theatre Arts programs of the College with direction by David Mold, scenic design by Carlos Castillo, costume design by Sarah Rosselli, lighting design by Ray Recht, and voice and text coaching by Barbara Adrian. Opening night reception will follow the performance on Wednesday, October 15th.
