Delivering this year’s special lecture, Carol Gilligan is an internationally acclaimed psychologist and prolific writer. She is also considered by many feminists to be a pioneer in the feminist movement. Her important work on examining the development of women’s self-identities and values in a society dominated by patriarchal standards can be found in her esteemed publications, In a Different Voice: Psychological Theory and Women’s Development and Meeting at the Crossroads: Women’s Psychology and Girls’ Development. Her first novel, Kiara, has recently been published.
