One of America’s literary icons, Bruce Jay Friedman is a novelist, playwright, short-story writer, and Oscar nominated screenwriter. Bruce published his first novel, Stern, in 1962 and established himself as a writer and playwright, most famously known for his off-Broadway hit, "Steambath," and his 1978 novel, The Lonely Guy’s Book of Life. Bruce has also published seven other novels and numerous screenplays such as Stir Crazy and the Oscar nominated "Splash." The Heartbreak Kid was based on one of Bruce’s short stories, “A Change of Plan.” His new book, Three Balconies, is just out.
