MMC’s Theatre Department presents a three-part dialogue series that gathers together faculty and students in order to explore the MMC productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie and She Stoops to Conquer. On Monday, February 9, in the first part of the dialogue series, “Clowning Around: Commedia as an Applicable Structure within She Stoops to Conquer,” panelists will discuss how studying clown technique, gesture and stock character can reveal various social tensions in She Stoops to Conquer. Participants include Matthew Chapman (Adjunct Professor of Theatre) and the student dramaturgs working on this production (Cathleen Choate, Elitza Daskalova and Laura Baum). The dialogue will be held from 7:15-8:15 p.m. in the Regina Peruggi Room. This event is free and open to the public.
