Feb. 18: Gender and Sexuality Studies Minor Kickoff Bash Features Expert Lecturer

The Humanities Division, the Social Sciences Division, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Fine and Performing Arts Division are hosting an evening of thought and celebration. The Gender and Sexuality Studies Minor Kickoff Bash welcomes lecturer Pailey Currah, who teaches political science and women’s studies at Brooklyn College of The City University of New York. Currah’s lecture will encompass law’s sexual geographies. Currah has written on the legal status of transgender and gender nonconforming people in the United States. He is a co-editor of Transgender Rights (Minnesota 2006). His current book project is The United States of Gender: Sex, the State, and the Regulation of Transgender Identities (forthcoming from NYU Press). He is also co-editing, with Monica Casper, an edited collection, Bodies of Knowledge: New Interdisciplinary Studies.
