Feb. 14-15: FMLA and V-Day Present Benefit Productions of The Vagina Monologues

February 14, 2009
Dates: February 14-15
Time: 8-9:30 p.m.
Location: Theresa Lang Theatre (Feb. 14), 8th Floor Space (Feb. 15) and Nugent Lounge (receptions)
Contact: Melissa McNerney at TicketsVMonologues09@gmail.com

The Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance (FMLA) and the 2009 V-Day College Campaign present a benefit production of The Vagina Monologues in support of New York City’s Women’s Refugee Commission and to raise awareness for local organizations working to end violence against women and girls. This year, FMLA’s goal is to educate people about the V-Day 2009 Spotlight: Stop Raping Our Greatest Resource: Power to Women and Girls of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a new global campaign to call attention to the wide-scale atrocities committed against women and girls in Eastern DRC and demand an end to the impunity with which these crimes are committed. Your contribution and participation to this tremendous global movement will help bring the world closer to peace and women and their children closer to safer, happier, healthier lives. We know that with your support this will be a V-Day event that will change history. The second performance is on Sunday, February 15th at 8 p.m. A reception will follow in the Nugent Lounge on both nights.
