The Office of Alumni Relations invites alumni to attend a dinner and a performance of MMC Theatre Production Workshop’s Thoroughly Modern Millie. This Tony award-winning musical, based on the Oscar-winning film starring Julie Andrews, is the story of a young girl from Kansas who comes to New York City in search of a new life for herself smack in the middle of the Roaring Twenties. This hilarious romp through prohibition, speakeasies, bobbed hair, flapper skirts, and arrow collar shirts traces her journey to find her place as a “modern” woman in the splendid madness that was Manhattan during the 1920s. This production is performed by students in the Theatre Arts programs of the College.
Guests will meet at 6 p.m. at The Beach Café, located at 1362 2nd Avenue (between 69th and 70th Streets), then walk to MMC for the performance after dinner.
