In cooperation with Marymount Manhattan College, The Network for Peace through Dialogue will present the “Dialogue In/As Action” conference June 12 and 13. The two-day conference provides community group organizers, students, teachers, and researchers with an opportunity to share their stories of success in transforming dialogue into action with others. Alumna, former trustee and President’s Medal honoree Geraldine Ferraro ’56 will speak opening night. The 2009 Network for Peace through Dialogue conference will focus on the rich intersections of the methods, processes and actions of dialogue that lead to change. As a community forum, the conference encourages constructive dialogue work by showcasing, critiquing and discussing different methods that international, national and local groups have utilized to promote change. Furthermore, the conference gives participants a chance to collaborate with and learn from each other in a safe environment that posts no limit to the creativity and open-mindedness that is necessary for this field to continue growing and flourishing worldwide.
