DANCE: Fall Repertoire
December 9, 2004
This season the MMC Dance Department will present distinguished works by five faculty members in our Fall Concert series. In keeping with the philosophy of the Department, the program will provide a variety of dance styles. Guest artist Bahiyah Sayyed Gaines, company member and principal dancer with The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, will choreograph a new work for the MMC Dance Company. Adjunct faculty member Francisco Martinez will present a contemporary work, and composer Patrick Daugherty will combine music and vocals in the midst of a cast of dancers to create a unique movement composition. Also, faculty member Elizabeth Higgins and our Artist in Residence, Denise Vale, will choreograph new innovative works for the MMC BFA Dance majors.
Performances: Dec. 9-10 at 8pm and Dec. 11 at 2pm & 8pm, in the Theresa Lang Theatre.
General admission is $12; $8 for seniors and students from other universities with valid I.D.; free for the MMC community with valid MMC I.D. Call (212) 517-0610 for reservations and information. (Reservations begin Nov. 1st.)
