Marymount Manhattan College is hosting a professional development workshop for faculty in the New York Metro Area Partnership in Service Learning (NYMAPS) network on August 26. Factors like funding, differing schedules between educational institutions and CBOs, research findings, critical incidents, diverse populations, collaboration and group dynamics, etc. contribute to rich community-based learning experiences that can be unpredictable. “When Community-Based Projects Take Unexpected Turns: Assessment & Reflection Strategies” workshop will introduce practical strategies for Assessment and Reflection and will provide the opportunity for participants to brainstorm/discuss/work-through implementation of their own syllabi with colleagues.
