The Department of Dance at Marymount Manhattan College organizes the annual lecture series Dialogues in Dance. “Spatial Dialogue-Work in Progress” will feature Rebecca Mushtare, assistant professor of communication arts; Nancy Lushington, the Dance Department’s artist-in-residence; and Robert Dutiel, assistant professor of Theatre Arts on October 23. These three presenters are involved in a collaborative multimedia project funded by an MMC Sokol Grant. The work, titled Spatial Dialogues, investigates perceptions of space, such as the relationships between exterior and interior or public and private space. Creating in the intersection between new media, choreography and set design, the three presenters are interested in an exploration of the impact of space on physicality and movement and its representation through technology.
