Nov. 9: Campus Ministry Commemorates Kristallnacht, The Night of Broken Glass

November 9, 2009
Date: Monday, November 9
Time: 1-2:30 p.m.
Location: Chapel, 4th floor Main (across from the cafeteria)
Contact: Rebecca Buchanan at (212) 774-0723

In November 1938, New York Times writer Edward R. Murrow reported from London, “This is the night that changed the course of human history.” Campus Ministry invites you to join Rabbi Hiat and others to remember and reflect upon the significance of Kristallnacht in the past and in the present. Today, many Neo-nazi groups celebrate this tragic event as a happy anniversary. We invite the MMC staff, faculty, and students to stand in resistance to current hate crimes and genocide by commemorating this day, so that it will continue to be seen as the birth of the Holocaust.
