April 14-18: Theatre Production Workshop Takes Stage with The House of Blue Leaves

MMC Theatre Production Workshop presents The House of Blue Leaves by John Guare. This critically acclaimed play about a Central Park zoo keeper who moonlights as a songwriter, occurs on the day Pope Paul VI came to NY in 1966, and for the Shaughnessy family, all kinds of Hell breaks loose. Guare skillfully mixes farce, tragedy and musical comedy elements to create a richly comic theatre piece that is provocative and entertaining.
This production is performed by students in the Theatre Arts programs of the College with direction by Richard Niles, scenic design by Sofia Palacios-Blanco, costume design by Stephanie Eubank, lighting design by Ray Recht, and voice and text coaching by Jeff Morrison.
An opening night reception will follow the performance on Wednesday, April 14.
For the Thursday, April 15th performance, The House of Blue Leaves will be interpreted using American Sign Language; deaf and hearing impaired audience members should request special seating when reserving their tickets.
