Over one year ago, Israel launched an assault on the Gaza Strip in the Occupied Palestinian territories. The attack killed nearly 1,400 people, the vast majority of them civilians, according to human rights groups. Gaza remains under a suffocating Israeli blockade. What is the current situation in Gaza right now? What can we do about it? Come and find out by hearing Marymount Manhattan student Alex Kane ’11 talk about his experiences in the Gaza Strip over winter break. He will also be raising money for a community media project inside of Gaza. Alex wrote and blogged extensively for publications, such as the Indypendent and Mondoweiss while in Gaza.
