The MMC Psychology Club presents an evening with Rachel Lloyd ’02, a leading advocate for victims of child sex trafficking and founder of Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (GEMS), an organization that supports American girls and young women victimized by sex traffickers. During the event, Lloyd will be signing copies of her recently published memoir, Girls Like Us.

GEMS has helped hundreds of young women and girls, ages 12–24, who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking to exit the commercial sex industry and to develop to their full potential. GEMS provides young women with empathetic, consistent support and viable opportunities for positive change. Lloyd received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Marymount Manhattan College and her master’s in applied urban anthropology from the City College of New York.
