March 2: Alumni Tour the Rubin Museum of Art with the MMC Art Department

March 2, 2012
Date: Friday, March 2
Time: 6-9 p.m.
Location: 150 West 17th Street, New York City
Cost: $35 for tour and reception
Registration Information: This event is SOLD OUT.

Join the Marymount Manhattan College Alumni Association as we tour the Rubin Museum of Art. The Rubin is home to a comprehensive collection of art from the Himalayas and surrounding regions. It offers opportunities to explore the artistic legacy of the Himalayan region and to appreciate its place in the context of world cultures. The museum's collection consists of paintings, sculptures and textiles. Although works of art range in date over two millennia, most reflect major periods and schools of Himalayan art from the 12th century onward. Kayley Fullerton ’12, a current MMC art history student, will lead the tour. Kayley will be joined by Adrienne Baxter Bell, Ph.D., assistant professor of art history. The evening will include a reception at K2 Lounge, located within the museum, directly following the tour.
