HEWITT GALLERY OF ART: Reception for the "Eyes on Stamos" Exhibit
March 10, 2005
(Right) The Alter #1 oil on masonite 36" x 48" by Theodore Stamos
Join us on Thurs., March 10, 2005 in the Hewitt Gallery of Art as we introduce the third exhibit of 2005, "Eyes on Stamos."
Theodoros Stamos (1922-1997) was one of the original Abstract Expressionists working in New York City in the 1940s and 50s. His interest in nature, Surrealism, primitive arts and Asian Mysticism helped him to synthesize a non-representational language, which he emphasized with subtle gradations of color and form.
Location: Hewitt Gallery of Art
