(New York, NY) Effective January 3rd, Cathleen T. McLoughlin, Ph.D. '60 assumed the role of Executive Assistant to the President. In this position, Dr. McLoughlin serves as a liaison between the President's Office and internal and external constituents and as a link between President Shaver and members of the administrative staff and faculty.

Dr. McLoughlin holds an M.A. from Columbia University Teachers College and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of CUNY. She has presented several papers and has been the recipient of three NEH Grants to attend seminars at Harvard University, Queens College and the University of Rochester. Dr. McLoughlin has also taught in New York City public schools and at a number of local colleges including Marymount Manhattan.

"Having taught at Marymount Manhattan as an adjunct, Dr. McLoughlin has been an active alumna and member of the College community for some time. I am delighted that she will be taking on this new role and look forward to working with her, " remarks President Shaver.

Since 1996, Dr. McLoughlin has taught courses across several divisions of the College including Continuing Education, English and Religious Studies. "I returned happily to my alma mater as a teacher where I have felt privileged to work with bright students and congenial colleagues, " comments Dr. McLoughlin. "My role as an alumna and faculty member have made me proud, and I am thrilled to continue my association with Marymount Manhattan College in my new role.
