MMC Alumna Chosen as President of Colorado State Senate

 (Denver, Col.) Joan Hogan Fitz-Gerald '70 has been chosen as Colorado's first female Senate president.
A member of the State Senate since her election in 2000, Fitz-Gerald was instrumental in helping Colorado Democrats to gain control of the Senate that year. Her election gave her party a one-seat majority.
In 2002, she went on to become the first female minority leader in Colorado Senate history. That groundbreaking accomplishment is eclipsed only by her latest achievement which makes Fitz-Gerald the only female Senate president in the nation.
