Recent Major Gifts to MMC

(New York, NY) Marymount Manhattan is delighted to announce the following recent gifts to support some of the College's current initiatives and programs:

1) An anonymous donor has pledged $250,000 in support of the Bedford Hills College Program. This gift will allow the College to continue the transition and stabilization of this important program under the full management of Marymount Manhattan.

2) The New York Community Trust has awarded MMC a grant of $50,000, also in support of the Bedford Hills College Program.

3) Warren and Ellen Davis, parents of Ashley Davis, a current psychology major at MMC, have pledged a $40,000 gift to the College. In recognition of the Davis' generosity, Marymount Manhattan will name a classroom after Ashley. Mr. and Mrs. Davis have requested that the classroom be called the Ashley W. Davis '06 Classroom. It will be located in Nugent 461.

4) The Thomas McKeehan Unit Trust has committed to a $25,000 grant that will aid in the translation of the College's recruitment materials into Spanish. This will help Latino parents to better understand the MMC admissions process and the opportunities their children have to pursue higher education at Marymount Manhattan.

5) Helene Napolitano, in collaboration with Colleen O'Coin in the Office of Institutional Advancement was able to secure a $5,000 grant from the New York State Higher Education Support Center. This grant will be used to establish a tutoring initiative for identified adolescent special education and "at risk" learners at Talent Unlimited High School on East 68th Street.

Marymount Manhattan College is extremely grateful to the aforementioned individuals, organizations and foundations for their support.
