Math is ever-present in art. Pure numbers and mathematical concepts are at the core of the works presented in this exhibit. Featured artists Matthew Deleget, Sarah Ferguson, and Howardena Pindell use varied media as a physical means to delineate phenomena concretely. The exhibit includes patterned drawings consisting of metallic ink on paper, gouache paintings on paper based on patterns in architectural forms, charcoal drawings on paper involving the superposition of mathematical language on the human form, and charcoal/graphite drawings created through the dynamic interplay between mathematical thinking and writing.
