MMC Hosts Conference, "Management of the Performing Voice"

(New York, NY) Dr. Lucian Sulica, Director of Otorhinolaryngology at Weill Cornell Medical Center - NY Presbyterian Hospital and Dr. Ryan Branski, Research Speech Scientist of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center presented the first "Management of the Performing Voice" Conference at Marymount Manhattan College on May 5, 2006.
A large cross-section of faculty and students attended, both from within MMC and from external college and hospital communities. The conference focused on the prevention and detection of vocal disorders for performers and other professional speakers.
Dr. Sulica is an international authority and lectures extensively in the US and abroad to professional and patient audiences. He is the author of many standard medical texts and journal articles and of the Web site, www.voicemedicine.com. Dr. Branski's recent article on the current state of voice research in the U.S. is published in the May 2, 2006 issue of the ASHA Leader.
