Angellica Clayton-Spray Scholarship Fund to Benefit MMC Speech Pathology Student
 |
(New York, N.Y.) Anthony and Lyn Clayton-Spray have donated $20,000 to Marymount Manhattan College to establish the Angellica Clayton-Spray Scholarship Fund in honor of their daughter. Angellica, a hearing-impaired 11-year-old with a cochlear implant, receives individualized speech and language therapy through MMC's Smadbeck Communication and Learning Center (CLC).
Over the past year, Angellica has made great progress through her work with the Smadbeck team, and her parents wanted to give something to the College in return.
The Angellica Clayton-Spray Scholarship will be awarded to a senior speech pathology student with a serious interest in developing a career in the speech pathology and audiology field. The Clayton-Spray family hopes to continue awarding the scholarship in the years to come.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for the CLC and our speech pathology and audiology students," said Ann Jablon, chair of the division of sciences. "We have so enjoyed working with Angellica and her parents, and are grateful for their generosity."
