Close to $200,000 Raised at MMC Third Annual Golf Tournament

(New York, N.Y.) On Monday, September 18 Marymount Manhattan honored New York business leader Peter Pappas and raised $198,420 for the College at its Third Annual Golf Tournament. This year's tournament was held at the prestigious Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., home of the 2006 United States Open. Proceeds from the tournament will go to priority needs for the College. Over 100 MMC supporters participated in the tournament.
Mr. Pappas is the CEO/President of P.J. Mechanical Corp. and owner of Delta Sheet Metal and Expert Insulation. A leader in the construction business for over 35 years, Mr. Pappas's work has made a lasting impression on a variety of landmark New York City buildings, including the Time Warner Center and the renovated Chrysler Building. He has also demonstrated his commitment to education as National Chairman of the Cyprus Children's Fund, which awards scholarships to children who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. A devoted member of the Greek-American community of New York, Mr. Pappas recently opened the well-reviewed Greek restaurant, Parea, located in the Flatiron District.
