To Honor Gordon Parks

Coinciding with the first anniversary of his death, an exhibit of Gordon Parks' photographs and mementos will recognize his contributions to the arts and humanities. The exhibit will coincide with a series of related events at MMC, including lectures, vocal performances, and a panel discussion.
Gordon Parks, an eminent humanitarian and a versatile and prolific artist, died March 7, 2006 at the age of 93. He triumphed in every arena, consistently drew critical adulation, and earned the status of cultural icon. He stood out for his capacity to rise above adversity, the range of his creative work, and his commitment to community.
