MMC Students to Perform in Twyla Tharp College Showcase at The Joyce

(New York, NY) Starting May 12, Marymount Manhattan dance students will perform in a special showcase of works choreographed by Twyla Tharp at The Joyce Theater. MMC will participate in this unprecedented event as one of the five most prestigious college dance departments in the area.
Christina Ilisije ’07, Meghan MacAlpine ’08 and Alison Manning ’08 will perform The Fugue along with students from Sarah Lawrence College. MMC students are rehearsing under the supervision of original cast members of Twyla Tharp Dance Jennifer Way Rawe and Toma Rawe.
The showcase will take place during the spring season and will also feature performances of Eight Jelly Rolls, by students from Barnard College, Country Dances, by students from Hunter College, and Deuce Coupe, by students from The Julliard School.
The Joyce Theatre is located at 175 8th Avenue (at the corner of 19th Street). Spring season performances will start on May 12th and will take place on Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. To purchase tickets for this event, contact The Joyce Theater at (212) 242-0800. The ticket price is $20.
