MMC Student Recognized at Science Competition

(New York, NY) Jessica Stevens ’09 was awarded with second place honors in the area of Cellular and Molecular Biology at the first Undergraduate Research Symposium in the Biological Sciences at William Patterson University in Wayne, N.J. on April 21, 2007.
Her presentation was based on her research of CDK5, a protein that may play a role in insulin producing cells in the pancreas.
Faculty judges evaluated students based on their poster presentation and expertise of their research project. Presenters came from many mid-Atlantic colleges and universities including Drew University, Monmouth University, Montclair State, CUNY Staten Island and City College NYC.
