Peconic Bay Winery Alumni Event

October 12, 2007
On Friday, October 12, the College will host an alumni event at Peconic Bay Winery in Cutchogue, N.Y. on the North Fork of Long Island. Peconic Bay Winery is owned by Ursula and Paul Lowerre '81. The tasting will begin at the vineyard at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m.

We will be tasting many wines, including the 2005 La Barrique Chardonnay, just named Best Chardonnay in New York Sate at the 2007 New York Wine & Food Classic and named Best Discovery (white) at The 2007 Wine Literary Awards in California.

Matt Gillies, Peconic Bay's general manager, a viticulturist on Long Island for nearly 30 years, will be on hand to field questions, and if the weather cooperates, discuss viticulture and wine making.

Matt also promises to take any willing parties for a hayride through the vineyards which will be capped off by a taste of Peconic's Polaris Riesling dessert wine to warm you up. In addition, a 25 percent discount will be offered to Marymount alumni on cases and a 15 percent discount will be offered on bottles.

The fee for this event is $40. The vineyard is located at 31320 Main Road, Cutchogue, N.Y. 11935.

This event has been cancelled due to construction and inclement weather.
