      John Walter, director of system applications with MMC’s Information Technology Department, was featured on a national podcast presented by RadioLab. In the program, “Mirror, Mirror,” Walter explains how changing the part in your hair can significantly change the way other people view and relate to you. The program was recorded in mid-March is can currently be heard as a podcast on Radio.org.

Blueprint Theater Project Announces LARGO

      MMC alumnus David Alex Andrejko ’09 and MMC Associate Professor of Theatre Arts Ellen Orenstein, M.F.A., are presenting part two of “The Human Variations,” a theatrical symphony, at CV Lounge below The Hotel on Rivington. On April 11, an article was published on the Web site Off-OffBroadwayWorld.com. This production, scheduled from April 14-23, was written by Andrejko and features Molly Groome ’10, Nick Hepsoe ’09, Jillian Mason ’10, Melissa McNerney ’09, Matt Sweet ’07 and Zac Walker ’09. In addition to Orenstein, Kevin Connell, M.F.A., associate professor of theatre arts, also serves as a production adviser.

      American University’s Center for Social Media highlighted a video by Billy Shields ’11 and Stuart Kiczek ’10 on its Web site. The video re-purposed black and white footage no longer under copyright in order to teach consumers how to cut down on expenses by filtering their own tap water at home, instead of buying bottled water.

      Ghassan Shabaneh, Ph.D., associate professor of international studies, shared his views with CBS TV about the speech made by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during the UN General Assembly. CBS reported: "President Barack Obama came to the United Nations to challenge world leaders to wholeheartedly support a Middle East peace settlement, but he also came to deliver a stern warning to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who also had some choice words for the United States." Dr. Shabaneh also completed interviews with: Al Jazeera, Al Arabia, Dubai TV, Saudi TV, Egyptian TV and Kuwaiti TV during the last two days, as part of the media coverage surrounding the UN General Assembly. Dr. Shabaneh was also interviewed by Corine Lesnes Le Monde Correspondent in Washington on August 28, 2010.
