Why Choose MMC?

An excellent way to prepare for this world is to study business at Marymount Manhattan College. We offer a rigorous program in business along with the benefits of attending a leading liberal arts college in the heart of New York City. Business Schools primarily focus on teaching you technical skills like capital budgeting and marketing management. By way of contrast, we believe that helping students to become life long learners is an equally important part of career preparation, and you will take a variety of liberal arts courses in addition to business and accounting courses.

We can do this because our classes are small (classes have fewer than 25 and most are between 10 and 20) so students get individual attention. Add to that the breadth of opportunities for internships in New York City and you have a unique educational opportunity.

Business Degrees

Marymount Manhattan College offers two Business majors. One is the B.S. in Business Management and the other is the B.A. in Business. While both give you the fundamental skills to pursue a Business career, the B.S. in Business Management is for students who seek a traditional program. The B.A. in Business is for those students who want to combine a foundations in Business with a greater focus on the Liberal Arts.

The B.S. in Business Management with concentrations in Finance and Investments, Human Resources, International Business and Economics, Entrepreneurship, Media & Arts Management and Marketing. All business majors take courses in accounting, economics, marketing, finance and management and then choose their area of concentration. The B.A. in Business has concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Economics, Leadership, Media, and Arts Management.

All of these courses are taught in keeping with our basic philosophy that the fundamental intellectual skills of reading critically, thinking analytically, and writing clearly are important. We are encouraged in this belief by feedback from business professionals and our alumni. They also stress the importance of being able to work well in team settings and to deliver effective oral presentations. At Marymount Manhattan College you will develop these skills.
