Health Insurance for Students
All students enrolled for 12 or more credits at Marymount Manhattan College are required to have adequate health insurance. Since many of our students are in need of affordable health insurance, we are pleased to offer a Policy through Aetna Student Health.
As you know, meeting the health care needs of our students is extremely important to us. To that end, we have tried to provide our students with an affordable health insurance plan in the event that their current insurance does not cover them in New York City.
Through a partnership with Aetna, Aetna Student Health offers comprehensive health insurance coverage to more than 400,000 students on campuses coast to coast. They work with each school and Aetna's network of local and national health care providers to make sure every student has access to the best care available.
For the 2008-2009 academic year, the Basic Plan costs $804 for annual coverage and provides worldwide coverage 365 days a year. For those students who already have coverage under their parents' or another plan, we encourage you to review your plan to determine if you have comparative health coverage while at Marymount Manhattan College. For example: Does your plan offer a national prescription drug card? Can you visit any specialist without a referral? Does your plan have age restrictions that may limit coverage before you complete college? Please don't wait until you are sick or have an accident to find out.
