Question: Why does Marymount Manhattan College have Campus Ministry?
Answer: To assist in the development of the spiritual and religious lives of students and staff; to offer an opportunity for students of faith to express that faith in community; to promote inter-religious cooperation and understanding.

Office Staffing: a half time Campus Minister, Sr. Virginia Dorgan, RSHM. Sr. Virginia belongs to the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, the founders of Marymount Manhattan College and is Catholic. Representatives of other faith traditions are called in as appropriate.

Office Location: The Campus Ministry Office is located on the 3rd floor of the Main Building.

Office Schedule: The Campus Minister is consistently on campus on Mondays and Thursdays and comes in at other times for various events as needed. (for example: special meetings and interviews, Alum events on weekends, special services, special counseling, Honors Convocations, evening functions, Commencement and Baccalaureate.)

A Holy Place: There is a reserved room on the fourth floor of the Main Building which is open at all times for prayer and reflections. At times, services, meditation sessions or special prayers are scheduled there.

Bulletin Board: For information, inspiration and thought. Fourth floor of the Main Building.

Religious Clubs and Activities:

  • Marymount Christian Fellowship (Campus Crusade for Christ) - provides a place for prayer, bible studies and spiritual guidance.
  • Catholic Student Alliance - A group of Catholic students and others who want to share in their prayer and social outreach activities.
  • Hillel - The Jewish Student Organization
  • Islamic Cultural Society - The association of Muslim students.
