CAPS

Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for Students

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is located on the 3rd floor of the Main Building on campus. The primary aim of CAPS is to support the emotional, interpersonal, developmental, and social needs of the students at Marymount Manhattan College. Students are encouraged to use the services for any problems they may be having. If you're wondering whether your concerns are appropriate for CAPS, we recommend that you make an appointment to consult with one of our staff. Many students are using the services at CAPS and no problem or issue is "too small" to discuss. If it is something that is bothering you, then bringing it to CAPS is justified!

CAPS provides a variety of free mental-health services to students enrolled at MMC including individual and group psychotherapy, consultation, and psycho-educational groups and workshops. Referrals to outside therapists, programs, and agencies are also provided when necessary. Additionally, a part-time psychiatrist is available for evaluations and medication management. We place emphasis on creating an atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable for all individuals, regardless of race, gender, ethnic background, age, sexual orientation, religion, citizenship, or disability.
