"My student internships seemed unbelievable to my friends at other schools, mostly back in my home state, Ohio. I worked in the development department of Channel 13, the PBS affiliate. I worked in the public relations department of the fashion company, Burberry. And I worked with a public relations firm, Planned Television Arts, placing authors with new books on television and radio programs. Thanks to MMC's good connections in New York, I built a strong resume."

Changing course made easy
"Originally, I was determined to work in television. But after a few classes, I realized 'on-air' would never be a satisfying place for me. The wonderful professors in communications helped me reset my course. And they did it without letting me lose sight of what was realistic."

Involvement leads to new wisdom
"You asked where I see myself in five years. I'll be in law school. Getting so involved at Marymount Manhattan, particularly the three years I spent as a resident advisor, opened my eyes to the fact you can make a real difference in people's lives if you have the dedication and take the time."
