Honors Day 2009
Honors Day and the 32nd Annual Honors Colloquium at Marymount Manhattan was held on March 17, 2009. Students were given the opportunity to present their best course work including papers, projects and performances throughout the day. Honors Day recognizes and encourages the outstanding scholarship and achievements of students and faculty at the College.
 MMC Student Amy Markel '09 presented "Lost: Women's Rights in Afghanistan and the Failure of the West," sponsored by Dr. Ghassan Shabaneh, Assistant Professor of International Studies.
 MMC faculty, staff, students and parents gathered in the Great Hall for the Awards Brunch during the 2009 Honors Day.
 Students Zachary Harrell '10, president of the Student Government Association (SGA) and Diana Zambrotta '09, vice present of SGA welcomed guests to Honors Day 2009 at the opening ceremony in The Theresa Lang Theatre.
 MMC student Jacob Webber '10, presented "Hershey Company: Over One Hundred Years Since the Dream Began," sponsored by Dr. Vandana Rao, Professor of Business Management and Chair of the Accounting and Business Management Division.
 Theater majors Melissa McNerney '09 and Allison Tebbano '09 presented As You Like It, Shakespeare Scene Study and Performance," sponsored by John Basil, Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts.
 Vice President of Institutional Research and Planning, Dean Peter Baker announced the student presenters for Honors Day 2009.
 Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty David Podell welcomed guests during the Honors Day Opening Ceremony.
 MMC Student Sofia Palacios-Blanco presented, "Allegorical Structure-Let Me Go and Help Me," sponsored by Nick Schneider, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Art and Hallie Cohen, Assistant Professor of Art.
 MMC inducted 16 students to the Kappa Delta Pi, the International Education Honor Society. Guest speakers included David Podell, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty; and Dr. Ann Jablon, Chair of the Division of the Sciences, were featured speakers.
