Reunion 2010

Marymount Manhattan College (MMC) invited the classes of '45, '50, '55, '60, '65, '70, '75, '80, '85, '90, '95, '00 and '05 for Reunion 2010 "Then and Now." The celebration was held June 11-13 at the MMC campus. The College honored Maureen Cahill Grant '60 with the Pere Gailhac Award and Joshua Sherman '00 with the Sr. Raymunde McKay Award. Grant, who retired in 2008 from MMC, served the College in varying capacities for former President Regina Peruggi, Ph.D. , and as senior vice president for President Judson R. Shaver, Ph.D. After graduating from MMC, Sherman decided to pursue a career in medicine. He graduated from Stony Brook University School of Medicine in 2006 and completed his residency in internal medicine at Stony Brook Medical Center in 2009. He is currently a hospitalist at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt.

On Friday, The Lowerre Family Terrace served as a great setting for a welcome reception and to familiarize alumni with the College's recent developments. On Saturday, Professor Mary Brown, Ph.D. , led alumni on a walking tour of the neighborhood before the luncheon in the Great Hall. Preceding a retrospective slide show, Professor of Theatre Arts Mary Fleischer, Ph.D. , and Professor of Communication Arts Alister Sanderson, Ph.D. , held a discussion about the College's progress. Class meetings and parties allowed alumni the chance to catch up with former classmates. Alumni completed the weekend celebration with a farewell picnic brunch and scenic walking tour of Central Park on Sunday.
