MMC Online Courses

MMC offers a number of online courses at various levels and in different disciplines. Some of our faculty are especially committed to online learning, as they believe that it provides the ultimate flexibility to students - allowing you to learn without having to travel physically to campus. This is especially helpful for adult or other students who may work full-time.

In addition, most of MMC's online courses require that students participate in online discussion groups, which give students experience in writing and presenting their thoughts and also allow even the quietest students to contribute to class discussions.

The College is planning to expand its online offerings and offers training and support to students interested in taking online courses. Below is a list of some of the online courses that have been offered at MMC:

  • Law, Government and Politics in America (Professor Tibor Farkas)
  • History of Photography (Professor Millie Burns)
  • World Geography (Professor Richard Garrett)
  • Communication & The Future (Professor Laura Tropp)

Students interested in online, hybrid or web-enhanced courses should go to:
  • http://marymount.blackboard.com and create an account for themselves
  • Make sure to remember their user id and password
  • Do a test run
    • Log in after creating account
    • Find tab labeled COURSES in upper left corner
    • Go to the department, find the course, and click on the button ENROLL
  • The instructor will provide a code that allows students to enroll in the course
