The Marymount Manhattan College Dance Department offers a variety of opportunities to enrich the students' already rigorous curriculum. The Department believes that a well-rounded education includes participating in extracurricular experiences that augment the classroom/studio experience. Students can seek independent study as well as engage in some of the examples below.

The MMC Dance Company is a year-long competitive "residency," casted by audition only, in which students work closely with some of today's most important choreographers.

Options are available to continue training while being engrossed in the culture and language of another country by participating in exchange programs, such as de Theaterschool in Amsterdam.

Internships are available with world-renowned dance companies, magazines, physical therapists and non-profit organizations and often influence many of our dance majors' future career paths.

Summer Programs are offered for optional training with a specific company during the summer.

Students may elect to be involved behind the scenes and gain the opportunity to work toward a portfolio of work for future career options. Students have designed Dance Department fliers, engineered and designed sound for both DAW (Dancers at Work) and the Mainstage performances, and have photographed dancers both behind the scenes and on the stage.
